Who should attend the conference and why?

This conference will be of special interest to all scientists, reporters and decision makers in business and government focused on interdisciplinary research relating to climate change and adaption strategies. Strong participation of African postgraduate students is particularly encouraged.

The principle focus of the conference will be on Earth Systems Science and how this may help better understand climate changes, past, present and future, especially in Africa. It is the aim of this conference to bring together international and African researchers from diverse specializations, and encourage presentation of new scientific data and analyses covering both local and global views.

A number of well-respected invited experts will provide backdrops to outstanding scientific challenges.  Those who have currently confirmed their attendance are listed on the Programme page of this website and in the 2nd Circular.

The outcome of the conference will be a contribution to the agenda for addressing global climate change challenges with African-based science and policy actions.

N.B.  the deadline for Abstracts is 30th September 2008.
