ToursTwo optional scientific tours have been arranged for Saturday 17th January 2009. Although both these tours will have a geological focus, they will provide an opportunity to see some of the spectacular scenery near Cape Town (Tour 1) or a diverse set of coastal environments (Tour 2). Both tours will take the full day and you will only return to your hotel at approximately 18:00 (too late to catch most International flights that evening). Please note that both tours can only accommodate a maximum of 50-55 people. Your choice of tour can be booked and paid for using the online registration process. Tour 1: Circumnavigate the Cape Peninsula – R 450 per personThis tour will take you on a scenic and geological trip around the Cape Peninsula that lies immediately to the south of the city of Cape Town. Tour 2: Coastal environments north of Cape Town – R 500 per personThis tour will explore the many different coastal environments along the west coast of South Africa visiting Langebaan Lagoon in the West Coast National Park and the Pliocene fossil beds of the West Coast Fossil Park.
